THQ is currently getting to the bottom of it all – we will keep you up to date. Bad code? Too much to charge? Botch in my system? No clue. Roughly comparable to the sound of the defragmentation, only considerably faster. So if you set foot in the labyrinth-like zone, the box rattles in such a threatening tenor that after a few minutes one becomes fearful and anxious. The latter would be a really strange coincidence, especially since it only appeared in this scenario and in both the preview and the boxed version. But unfortunately there is a special sticking point: A strange computer behavior in the “Tower of the Court”, which is currently not clear whether it is a general problem or whether it is solely due to my PC.
If you s***w down the graphics settings, all of this is of course justifiable to a certain extent. While I attributed various performance drops in the preview version to the unfinished version, the sales issue unfortunately shows a similar picture: As soon as a large number of objects and figures cavort on the screen, and you often experience such mass moments, the action jerks and jerks and even freezes for a short time in places. It’s actually more the technical side that tarnishes the overall impression a bit. However, this does not affect the game mechanics or the new features, which – as already explained in the first part of the preview special – are really successful and add up to the hack’n’slash fun. And before the first ones open their eyes and think “Oh God, what went wrong with the retail version?”, Let’s change the saying for Titan Quest: Immortal Throne: It’s all golden and shiny, but shining here and there the precious metal to be a little porous. Or according to my interpretation: If a game inspires at first glance with numerous aspects, but on closer inspection these turn out to be bland glitz. A good, if quite worn, proverb that always finds its way into the articles when something is not so bulky. As the saying goes, “Not all that glitters is gold”.
